Hey, I'm Kiara and I'm 15 years old.
I'm a Christian for over a year now! I'm the kids worship leader in Rock Fellowship and a team member at Y-Zone. And it's so amazing. I've decided to tell other people how Jesus can make a change in your life, the same way He did in mine!!
I started going to a Christian youth cafe (Y-Zone) in 2004. It's kind of like a hangout place for teenagers, it's great craic. I loved it the first night, so I went the next night and the next. A year after, I went through a lot of struggles! I was being bullied and beaten up and called loads of names, just because I had a speech problem. And then I wouldn't even leave the house by myself, I was afraid to talk. I had so many fears, I just felt like giving up and ending it all. One night it went to far. Someone hated me so much, one night when I was walking home, she beat me up in the middle of the street and tried to push me in front of a car. I ran over to my youth leader's house, her mother ame in a while later and I told I her about it. She said: "Just call on Jesus". I was thinking to myself: What's He going to do to block the girl; I had absolute no faith in God whatsoever.
But then in 2006 I just felt different. I started to listen more to what was said at the youth meetings. I loved singing the songs. My friends Caroline and Julie often told me about Jesus and for once I listened. On the 16th of June a mission team from America came. That time I started to feel more of a change. I didn't know what it was, but it was God touching my life. On the 17th of June one of the youth leaders asked if there was anyone who wanted to ask Jesus into their heart to come to one of them and they would pray with you. For some strange reason I started to cry. After the youth meeting I asked Evelien to pray with me, Ashling prayed with me too. When I said "Amen", I knew God was going to change my life! I knew He had taken away all my fears, I wasn't afraid of anything.
That year I became the kids worship leader and I love it so much, I love working with kids. I went to the Summer Fire Conference, which is a week where Christians from all over Ireland come together to worship Him. I made loads of new friends. It was amazing; the worship, the sermons, the youth meetings. I went to the same conference a year later and I made even more friends. But the most amazing thing that happened that week was that I was baptized in the Holy Spirit. I cried, I was so happy.
So, that's my testimony. Christianity is not just a religion, it's a faith. It's something to live for. Knowing Jesus is amazing. And if He can do all this in my life, imagine what He can do in yours!?! So, ask yourself this question: "Have I got Jesus in my heart?" Jesus loves you, no matter what you say!
God bless. Kiara. xox
