Evangelical fellowship A non-denominational charitable trust
The Irish Evangelical Fellowship (IEF, non-denominational) was founded in 1996 after negotiations with Christian people from different spheres both North and South during the previous year. The vision for this came from the late Dr. William Fleming, who was born and brought up in Cavan, and who exercised a fruitful ministry over many years in Presbyterian churches in Ahoghill and Abbotts Cross, near Belfast. From his experience of blessing in Ahoghill Dr. Fleming was convinced of the absolute necessity of prayer if there is to be spiritual prosperity and revival. After his retirement he was led to begin IEF as a means of encouraging prayer and evangelism in Ireland. Our aim has been formulated as: The Irish Evangelical Fellowship seeks to stimulate prayer for evangelistic witness and spiritual revival and to provide practical support for evangelical ministry throughout Ireland. We seek to achieve this in the following way: - A prayer letter covering matters throughout Ireland is published three times a year and is sent to individuals, churches and fellowships who request this
- A prayer seminar video of Dr. Fleming entitled “How to develop a praying church” is available for purchase or hire.
- We encourage prayer partnerships between groups and individuals in both North and South.
We are prepared to make grants: - To encourage those seeking to enter full-time ministry
- To assist those engaged in evangelistic outreach.
- To help in the purchase of suitable literature.
- Many leaders in small Christian groups have little training for this work and we are happy to assist where possible those who are seeking help in this respect. We have given financial support to people studying at the Irish Bible School and the Leadership Institute.
- Suitable Christian books for study, e.g. commentaries, can be expensive, and we have a Book list from which Christians involved in leadership or seeking training for such can purchase books at half price.
| Can we help you?If any of the above points lead you to feel we may be of assistance to you please send us an email or write to us at the address below. - We need people to pray for the Lord’s work in Ireland and will be happy to send the Prayer Letter to you regularly. Just write to the IEF Secretary or send an email!
- Join the IEF as a member for just £5 a year and be part of the important work in this day of need and opportunity in Ireland.
- Donations are always welcome for we are supporting people involved in leadership and evangelism, which can be costly. We are encouraged by the generosity of many and any contribution you make will be appreciated. We are a charitable Trust for tax purposes.
