The bridge to Life

God loves all men!

• God loves all men and wants them to have a personal relationship with Him.
• But man is separated from God and His love
• Why?

Sin separates man from God.

• Because he has sinned against God
• Sin separates man from God
• What can we do about this separation?

We try ...

• People try to bridge this separation by doing good.

We try ...

• Going to Church
• Doing good
• People try to bridge this separation by doing good. They think that this will make them acceptable to God.
• But however much we try, we cannot overcome the root problem of our own sinfulness.
• Man can never get to God his own way.

We fail ...

• "There is no-one righteous, not even one;
• There is no-one who seeks God.
• All have turned away.
• They have all together become worthless; There is no-one who does good, not even one."
• So where does this separation lead?

This separation leads only to death and judgement

• "Man is destined to die once and after that to face judgement"
• SIN brings DEATH and JUDGEMENT
• But there is a solution ...

God's solution

• Jesus Christ, unlike any other man, committed no sin, and therefore didn't deserve death
• But He took on Himself the death that we deserved so that we could escape the judgement due to us.

God's solution

• "Christ died for sins once for all, the Righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God."
• Does this include everyone?

Yes!

• Repent and Believe
• But only those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ can cross this bridge.
• God will not force you to come; you have a right to choose.

Yes!

• Repent and Believe
• "God commands now all people everywhere to repent."
• "Whoever believes in God's Son will not perish but have eternal life."

To "repent" means

• to admit to God that you have been living in rebellion to Him and that you are willing to turn from your sins.

To "believe" means

• to trust that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died bearing the punishment for your sins.

A bridge to life.

If you are willing

• to turn from your sin
• and believe that Christ died to purchase your forgiveness,

then take God's way:

• Repent and Believe

It's the only bridge to life

God's promise:

• "Their sins and lawless acts
• I will remember no more."
